About

"lonecloud" is an art project created by a Japanese artist Kei Umezawa.

This website is designed to print, sell, and distribute a selection of the most popular and his favorite cloud photos experimentally posted on Instagram. A portion of the proceeds is donated to the NGO, Water Aid to support clean water and safe hygiene practices for people around the world.

Please note that the lonecloud works are real clouds, not  3D rendered or AI generated.

Concept

Like people once revered the sun as a symbol of life and the moon as a symbol of death, this project is an attempt to embody "cloud" as a symbol of change. We, as always, are in a whirlpool of chaos and great change. Life and death, war and peace, man and woman, past and future, ecstasy and anxiety for example. The lonely cloud is our very minds drifting between these contrary phenomena.

Artist Bio

He is an artist/digital creator whose work revolves around photography. He has also been fascinated by the various faces of clouds, like many people do, and taking pictures of the sky as a resource for more than 15 years now. However, the death of his beloved family member led him to focus on lonely clouds, and he started the "lonecloud" project. Since then, he has been superimposing his sad circumstances on clouds and writing stories about the endless journey of lonely clouds in the sky.
